The kinematic viscosity of silica sol mainly depends on the volume fraction of the dispersed phase (i.e. silica particles) in the system, and has nothing to do with the size of its particles. Speaking of volume fraction, the viscosity of silica sol is related to the concentration of silica sol (silicon dioxide content). The larger the content, the higher the concentration, the higher the volume ratio, and the higher the viscosity. In addition, the density of silica particles in silica sol will also affect the viscosity of silica sol. The denser the particles, the smaller the volume of silica sol particles with the same concentration, and the lower its viscosity.
