The particle size of silica sol nanoparticles commonly used in production is 10-50nm. Silica sols in this particle size range are the most common on the market and are relatively cheap. If there are no special requirements for the purity and pH value of the silica sol, the price of this type of silica sol is often only a few thousand yuan per ton.
Large-particle silica sol: Silica sols with a particle size greater than 50nm can generally be called large-particle silica sols. Conventional large-particle silica sols have a particle size of 60nm, 80nm, 100nm, 120nm, etc.
Small-particle silica sol: Silica sol particles with a particle size less than 10 nm can generally be called small-particle silica sols.
Applications of large-particle silica sols and small-particle silica sols:
Large-particle silica sols are mainly used in CMP polishing liquids, such as sapphire substrate polishing, silicon wafer polishing, glass polishing, stainless steel polishing, metal surface polishing, silicon carbide substrate polishing, etc. It can also be used in fireproof liquid for composite fireproof glass as the main formula for nano-silicon fireproof glass.
Small-particle silica sol is mainly used in nano-inorganic coatings, catalyst carriers, inorganic fireproof coating materials, molecular sieves and other fields.
