Comparison of common inorganic silicate coatings

Hits: 916 img

At present, there are three major formulation systems in the inorganic coating market, namely potassium silicate latex-based inorganic coatings, silica sol potassium silicate latex-based inorganic coatings and silica sol latex-based inorganic coatings.
Among the three silicate inorganic coatings, silica sol potassium silicate latex-based inorganic coatings have the widest application range and the lowest requirements for substrates. They can be used for both internal and external walls. The advantages of using them for external walls in rainy areas are more obvious, especially the fact that they can be used on ordinary latex paint surfaces has rapidly expanded the application range of inorganic coatings. Potassium silicate latex-based inorganic coatings have higher requirements for substrates and can be used for both internal and external walls, but they should be used with caution on old latex paint walls and external wall surfaces in rainy areas. Silica sol emulsion-based inorganic coatings can only be used for internal walls and are particularly suitable for dark paint color matching.
The costs of the three types of inorganic coatings can be adjusted from low to high by selecting different formulas according to needs. Generally speaking, the cost of silica sol potassium silicate-based inorganic coatings will be slightly higher, and the cost adjustment space is smaller; while the cost of potassium silicate latex-based inorganic coatings and silica sol latex-based inorganic coatings has a lot of room for adjustment, and low, medium, and high cost formulas can be selected according to needs to meet the needs of different markets.
