Introduction of silica sol for battery

Hits: 909 img

As a type of valve-regulated lead-acid battery (VRLA), colloidal batteries have developed rapidly in recent years. They have the advantages of uniform electrolyte concentration, no acid stratification, low self-discharge, wide operating temperature range, good reliability, impact and vibration resistance, and can avoid the thermal runaway phenomenon that is easy to occur in general AGM (absorbent glass fiber cloth diaphragm) batteries, and long life.
Colloidal batteries widely use fumed silica as a gelling agent, but it has many disadvantages: pollution of the working environment, especially during the mixing process; occupational diseases and handling problems; large volume and inconvenient transportation, long gelation time; high cost. Therefore, silica sol with high purity and appropriate particle size is a very good choice to solve these problems.
