Does colloidal silica pose any specific health risks?

Hits: 904 img

The components of silica sol are amorphous silicon dioxide particles, water and trace amounts of stabilizers (such as Na+, K+, NH4+). Silica sol is not listed as a hazardous chemical, but it is mildly irritating (alkaline like soapy water, acidic like vinegar). When using silica sol, it is best to wear protective gloves and goggles. When it comes into contact with the skin, wash the contact area with plenty of water; when it comes into contact with the eyes, rinse with plenty of water. If the symptoms do not ease, please seek professional medical treatment.
