Silica sol is a dispersion of nano-scale silica particles in water or solvent. It is not regulated as a dangerous transport item in any part of the world, so it is suitable for various modes of transportation such as land, sea and air.
As an inorganic liquid with acidity and alkalinity, silica sol has a density greater than water, strong fluidity and permeability, and strong adhesion after solidification, which puts forward certain requirements for its packaging materials. There are many different brands of packaging materials on the market. In terms of safety and transportation and storage convenience, they are generally in the form of plastic barrels.
Plastic packaging can be recycled and reused, and the packaging cost per ton is between 600-900 yuan.
During transportation, the following points need to be noted:
1. Before filling, the operator must conduct a chemical compatibility test on the liquid to be filled and the content device.
2. If hot filling is required, it must meet the standards. The liquid temperature must not be higher than 60°C, and the barrel cover should be tightened after the liquid cools to the same temperature as the environment.
3. When the container is loaded, it is placed or stacked and fastened to a pallet such as a pallet by bundling, shrink wrapping or other suitable methods. And if necessary, a standard buffer must be placed in the transport container or carriage.
4. During transportation, remember not to suddenly and violently collide and hit the contents and valves under the action of relevant external forces. When transporting in hot weather, it should be stored in the ceiling, away from relevant heat sources, and avoid contact with the barrel and the liquid inside.
5. The optimal temperature of silica sol during transportation should be 5-30°, and it should be transported away from light to reduce direct sunlight.
6. The loading and unloading of barrels must start from the bottom, and the top lifting method must not be used.
